Douglas E. Stabile, DPM, was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is a 1985 graduate of the Temple University Podiatric Medical College in Philadelphia and completed a foot and ankle surgical residency in St. Louis in 1987. He started the Lakeridge Foot & Ankle Center in 1989 and subsequently opened the Stafford Foot & Ankle Center in 1994.

He became interested in Podiatry because of his love for sports and interest in treating professional and everyday weekend athletes. He was the team Podiatrist for the Washington Diplomats professional Soccer team and, over the years, has treated many semi-pro football players and minor league baseball players. He also has enjoyed treating several Olympic athletes over his career, from rowers, swimmers, runners, and even figure skaters. He was an avid runner.  Dr. stabile has treated many marathon runners who have participated in Boston, Chicago, and New York marathons and the perennial Marine Corps marathon.

Dr. Stabile has been involved in the training of residents in foot and ankle surgery since 1988 through the Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Foot and Ankle surgical program at Fairfax Hospital. He is also on staff and performs surgery at both Stafford Hospital and Fairfax Surgery Center. He has performed surgery on patients as young as one week old up to 100!

He has published articles on skin and bone infection treatment in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association and received awards for his publications.

Dr. Stabile lives in Fairfax, Virginia, and has two adult sons. He enjoys biking, golf, and hiking. He has a keen interest in every patient he treats, and his caring nature is apparent in everything he does.
